  2. Load List: Load classification, Design Factors, Load calculations, Contract demand, Transformer sizing.
  3. Transformer: Construction, Applicable standards, specification, data sheet, vector group, K factor & transformer selection and sizing, testing, similarity report. Transformer % impedance and basic Short Circuit current concept.
  4. Single Line Diagram (SLD): Key SLD, Protection and metering SLD of Incomer/bus coupler/HV & LV motors, Lighting & small power SLD.
  5. LV Switchgear: Construction, Applicable standards, form of separations, specification, data sheet, sizing, selection of components like fuse/ACB/MCCB/ Contactor/ Switches, type 2 coordination, Breaker Icu / Ics / Icw concept, MCU / FCU and communication fundamentals, DOL / Star Delta starters, testing.

LV Switchgear: Construction, Applicable standards, form of separations, specification, data sheet, sizing, selection of components like fuse/ACB/MCCB/ Contactor/ Switches, type 2 coordination, Breaker Icu / Ics / Icw concept, MCU / FCU and communication fundamentals, DOL / Star Delta starters, testing.
  2. HV Switchgear: Construction, Applicable standards, specification, data sheet, sizing, selection of components, important features, testing, Introduction to Gas Insulated Substation (GIS).
  3. Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG): Construction, Applicable standards, specification, data sheet, sizing, Continuous / Prime / Standby ratings and applicable standards, Excitation systems, Current / KW and EDG rating comparison factors, testing.
  4. Symmetrical short circuit calculations: SC calculation by PU method, exercise on SC calculation for Industrial systems. Impact of equipment impedance.
  5. Motor: Construction, Applicable standards, specification, data sheet, selection criteria, motor starters, cooling methods, Insulation types, mountings, testing.
  6. Variable frequency drives (VFD): Fundaments of drive, Industrial application, power saving features, pulse types.
